Damascus, SANA- An exceptional edition of al-Bassel Fair for Innovation and Invention kicked off on Saturday at the Fairgrounds within activities of the 60th edition of Damascus International Fair.
The fair is organized by Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in cooperation with Syrian Inventors Association, the General Establishment for Fairs and Syriatel Company.
About 700 inventors are participating in the fair in the domains of technology, electricity, mechanical engineering, design, production, environment, medical industries and reconstruction as the number of the participating inventions reached 584.
Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection Dr. Abdullah al-Gharbi told journalists that the participating inventions and innovations would contribute to pushing the wheel of progress forwards and finding solutions to many economic and industrial problems which resulted from the unjust war waged against Syria.
He asserted the government’s keenness on providing different types of support to the inventors, in addition to providing the requirements of their production and innovation to keep up with the progress.
