Al-Qadam Railway Station in service soon

Damascus Countryside, SANA – Engineering, technical and maintenance workshops are about to complete the rehabilitation works of al-Qadam Railway Station which went out of service since 2012 due to terrorist groups’ attacks.

SANA camera toured the station, inspected the volume of work and great efforts exerted to accomplish the work and met a number of staff members.

Head of Damascus Railways branch, Eng. Radwan Takriti, said that al-Qadam railway station will be put into service soon, adding that work continues to connect al-Qadam railway station to a railway stop near the Fairgrounds city ahead of the inauguration of the 60thDamascus International Fair.

He pointed out that 46 railway wagons have been prepared and 6 locomotives have been brought from Aleppo to Damascus, underlining the importance of the station’s strategic location as a main center towards eastern, northern and central areas.
