Syria’s wrestling team harvests 12 medals in Arab Wrestling Championship

Baghdad, SANA – Syria’s wrestling team harvested 12 medals in different categories during its participation in the Arab Wrestling Championship which recently wrapped up activities in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.

In Greco-Roman wrestling tournaments, 3 gold medals went to wrestlers: Bahaa al-Nakdali (45 kg category), Mohammed Fidaa al-Asta (60 kg category) and Ali Nshaiwati (92 kg category) while wrestlers Ahmad al-Nakdali and Hamzeh al-Hayek won the bronze medals in in 55 kg and 71 kg categories respectively.

In freestyle wrestling, wrestlers Omar Sarem, Ahmad Khanati, Ahmad Deiraki and Ali Nshaiwati seized 4 gold medals in weight categories: 110 kg, 65kg, 71 kg and 92 kg respectively. Wrestlers Ibhrahim Tabba’a and Mohammed Mostafa won 2 silver medals in 55 kg and 51 kg weight categories while Wrestler Omar Swaidan hot the bronze medal in 60 kg category.
