Damascus, SANA – Temperatures tend to drop but remain around or slightly above average as the country is affected by a superficial low air pressure accompanied by southwestern air currents in the upper layers of the atmosphere.
The Meteorology Department expected in its Friday bulletin that the skies will be partly cloudy with a chance of scattered rain showers over different areas, warning of fog formation in mountains and some inland areas at night and in early morning hours.
The wind will be westerly to southwesterly with light to moderate speed causing dust in the eastern areas and al-Badia (desert), the sea waves will be low to moderate in amplitude.
On Saturday, temperatures will rise to become 2 to 4 degrees above average. Skies will be clear to partly cloudy in general and misty in al-Badia and eastern areas.
The expected temperatures in some of the major Syrian cities will be as follows: Damascus 19/9, Quneitra 16/7, Daraa 18/11, Homs 18/9, Lattakia 18/12, Tartous 18/14, Aleppo 18/8 and Deir Ezzor 24/13.
