Damascus, SANA- The Syrian Football Federation reached an agreement with German coach Anthony Hay to train Syria’s national football team for one year.

Hay will start training the Syrian team which prepares for the 2019 AFC Asian final Cup to be held in UAE, Head of the Federation Salah Ramadan told SANA.

Ramadan added that Hay knows well the level of the Syrian team and has shown his willingness to train the team and reach the level of readiness required to compete strongly in the next Asian tournament.

Hay has trained teams of Ghana, Zambia and Kenya.

Syrian national football team lost to Australia 2-1 in the second leg of the World Cup 2018 qualifying play-off in Sydney after draw in the original time of the match.
