Damascus, SANA – Fourteen Arab countries have so far confirmed their participation in the regular meeting of the permanent office of the General Union of Arab Writers to be held in Damascus from 13 to 15 of January.
Arab Unions, associations and literary families from Lebanon, Palestine, Jordan, Iraq, the UAE, Egypt, Oman, Sudan, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Mauritania and Yemen are to participate in the meeting in addition to the hosting country, according to Head of the Arab Writers Union in Syria Nidal al-Saleh.
Al-Saleh said in a statement that Damascus, which is to host the meeting, affirms the important role of the Arab Writers’ Union in Syria in terms of restoring the fraternal ties among the Arab writers and among the Arab countries.
