Damascus, SANA – Syrian Telecom announced on Tuesday that the optical cable connecting Alexandria with Tartous in the Egyptian regional waters has been damaged, causing a drop in internet speed.
General Director of Syrian Telecom BakrBakr told SANA’s reporter that the company is working on compensating the required internet capacity via another international line that had been expanded recently, and internet speed return to normal gradually within 10 days.
Bakr said that Egyptian side has started the maintenance operations with close observation from Syrian Telecom, apologizing to all its clients for this inconvenience.
