Syrian Olympic football team ties with Qatari counterpart in a friendly match

Doha, SANA- Syrian Olympic football team tied with its Qatari counterpart 2-2 in a friendly match held on Wednesday in the Doha in preparation for the 2018 AFC U-23 Championship, which will be held in China next January.

Syria scored through players Yousef al-Ahmad and Ahmad Birish at the 11th and 58th minutes.

Hussein Afash, the team’s coach, told SANA that the team will play with the Iraqi team on Friday as it will play another match with its Qatari counterpart on November12th.

He added that the team will head for Indonesia on November 18th to start another training camp during which the team will play two friendly matches with the hosting team.

The Syrian Olympic football team will play within Group 4 of the 2018 AFC U-23 Championship, which includes South Korea, Australia and Vietnam.
