Sweida, SANA – The national expedition working at the site of Tal Dubat Breikieh in Sweida Province has unearthed a burial ground dating back to the Middle Bronze Age circa 2000-2500 B.C.
Head of Sweida Archeology Department Hussein Zein-Eddin told SANA that the uncovered burial ground, which is located to the south of Tal Dubat Breikieh, contains two skeletons, one of which is whole.
Zein-Eddin indicated that other burial grounds were also discovered during the previous excavation seasons.
The expedition has also unearthed a number of the funerary artifacts such as oriels and small pitchers made of inlaid black pottery dating back to 1800 B.C.
During previous excavation seasons , the archeological expedition working at the site has found the relics of a residential house dating back to the Aramaic era circa 700 B.C.
A number of clay pieces, pottery, vessels, walls, and floors have also been found at the site.
