180 gunmen from Damascus Countryside turn themselves in

Damascus Countryside, SANA 180 gunmen from the town of Bassima in Damascus countryside turn themselves in to the authorities and hand over their weapons in order to have their legal status settled.

A source at the Damascus Countryside Police Command told SANA’s correspondent that this was  carried out thanks to efforts from national reconciliation councils, and that the gunmen’s legal status were settled and they were released after they pledged not to take part in any act that could endanger the safety of the country.

Five days earlier, 180 gunmen from al-Zabadani area in the province turned themselves in, and the total of gunmen from Damascus Countryside who turned themselves in during the month of August is 547, with the rest of the gunmen being from Kanaker and Beit Sehm areas.
