Latakia, SANA-Latakia Governor Mohammad Othman inspected the firefighting and containment operations in the forests of the northern Latakia countryside, which have ravaged vast areas of forests and agricultural lands.
Othman praised the efforts made to control the raging fires and prevent them from reaching residential areas.
The fires have expanded significantly in recent hours due to strong winds and the difficult terrain of the area.
