Deir Ezzor, SANA- Public Security Department in Deir Ezzor governorate has arrested the leader of a kidnap gang along with a number of his accomplices who abducted a citizen last Monday evening.
The Director of the Public Security Department in Deir Ezzor governorate explained via the governorate’s official Telegram channel that the directorate received a report about the kidnapping of citizen Mohammed Jamal Alloush (one of the city’s residents) last Monday evening.
Following the abduction, the criminal gang began negotiating with his family, demanding a ransom of USD 35,000 for his release and extorting them by sending photos documenting his torture.
The Director confirmed that as soon as the report was received, the security services began gathering information, searching, and investigating the gang members.
Through analysis of the available data, it was possible to reach the leader of the criminal gang and accurately identify him.
Last night, two units of security forces carried out a precise raid on the location where the abductee was being held, and he was released safely.
The leader of the gang and a number of his accomplices were arrested, while the search operations are still ongoing to arrest the rest of the gang members.
The detainees were transferred to the investigation department for referral to the judiciary to receive the punishment they deserve.
