Daraa, Sept. 21 (SANA) Israeli occupation forces shelled the outskirts of Abidin, Maariyah and al-Arida villages in the Yarmouk Basin in western Daraa countryside on Monday, killing around 15 goats and causing material losses to livestock owners, according to local sources.
The sources told SANA that around seven artillery shells landed near a goat pen, killing approximately 15 goats.
They said the shelling affected the livelihoods and private property of livestock owners amid difficult living conditions.
Earlier Monday, Israeli occupation forces fired several artillery shells at the Abidin and al-Raqad valleys and targeted the outskirts of Jamlah village in the Yarmouk Basin. Israeli forces also opened fire from one of their positions along the 1974 disengagement line toward the outskirts of Abidin.
The 1974 Agreement on Disengagement between Syrian and Israeli forces established agreed lines and an area of separation, where the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) was deployed to supervise implementation of the agreement.
Israeli occupation forces continue to violate the 1974 Disengagement Agreement through repeated incursions into southern Syria, raids on civilian homes, arrests, land bulldozing and shelling.
Syria has repeatedly demanded the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from its territory, stressing that Israeli measures are null and void and have no legal effect under international law. It has also called on the international community to assume its responsibilities and compel Israel to fully withdraw from southern Syria.
