Aleppo,March 9 (SANA) Engineering teams from the Internal Security Forces in the town of Al Shuyoukh in the eastern Aleppo countryside continue operations to remove landmines, seal tunnels, and reopen roads in order to restore safe movement and prepare the area for the return of displaced residents.
Raed al Mohammad, head of the Engineering Department at the Ministry of Interior, told SANA’s correspondent on Sunday that engineering and demining units entered Al Shuyoukh nearly a month ago and began clearing mines from several locations.

He explained that the engineering teams have cleared up to 95% of the area, focusing first on key sites and residential zones.
Al-Mohammad added that the second phase is now underway to fill tunnels and reopen access roads.
He noted that two mine-clearing vehicles have also been deployed to agricultural land near the Euphrates River.
Demining operations began last month along the road linking Qarah Qozak Bridge to al-Shuyoukh after explosive devices were detected.
