Daraa/Quneitra, July 27 (SANA)  Israeli occupation forces carried out new incursions into the western Daraa and northern Quneitra countryside on Monday, raiding civilian homes and arresting one resident, according to SANA reporter. The latest operations come amid continued Israeli military movements in southern Syria, which constitute repeated violations of the 1974 Disengagement of Forces Agreement.

Escalating incursion in Daraa’s Yarmouk Basin

A force of Israeli occupation troops, supported by several military vehicles, advanced on Monday from Al-Jazeera barracks toward the village of Ma’ariya in the Yarmouk Basin of western Daraa.

SANA reporter said that the force positioned itself on the road linking the village to the barracks before opening the road leading to the neighboring village of Al-Arida, where troops searched a number of civilian homes.

The latest incursion follows a similar operation carried out at dawn on Sunday, when Israeli occupation forces entered Ma’ariya and Al-Arida villages. During that operation, troops established a temporary military checkpoint inside Al-Arida and distributed leaflets warning residents against obstructing the movement of Israeli forces.

Israeli occupation forces also targeted an electrical transformer in central Ma’ariya on Sunday, putting it out of service and cutting electricity to most homes in the village.

The Yarmouk Basin in western Daraa has witnessed an increase in Israeli military activity in recent months, with repeated incursions into border villages accompanied by search operations and the establishment of temporary checkpoints, amid continuing security tensions in the area.

According to a SANA reporter, troops raided and searched several civilian homes before arresting a local resident and taking him into the occupied territories. The force later withdrew from the village.

The incident followed another incursion on Sunday into the village of Al-Samdaniyah al-Gharbiyah in northern Quneitra, where Israeli troops raided a civilian home and detained a resident before later releasing him and withdrawing from the area.

Earlier, Israeli occupation forces shelled the outskirts of Taranjah village with artillery rounds. No injuries were reported.

Systematic Violations of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement

The latest incursions underscore Israel’s ongoing and systematic violations of the 1974 Disengagement of Forces Agreement through repeated military operations in southern Syria, including raids on civilian homes, arrests of residents, land bulldozing, and artillery shelling, destabilizing the already fragile security situation in the region.

Syria has repeatedly called for the complete withdrawal of the Israeli occupation from all Syrian territory, stressing that all Israeli measures and actions are null and void and carry no legal effect under international law. Damascus has also renewed its call on the international community to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities by compelling Israel to end its violations and fully withdraw from southern Syria.
