Quneitra, Syria, July 26 (SANA)  Israeli occupation forces fired artillery shells at the vicinity of Taranja village in the northern Quneitra countryside of southern Syria on Sunday.

SANA reporter said the occupation forces fired four artillery shells targeting agricultural land surrounding the village, with no casualties or material damage reported.

Earlier on Sunday, Israeli occupation forces advanced into the villages of Maariya and al-Aridah in the Yarmouk Basin area of western Daraa countryside with a force comprising three military vehicles and a bulldozer.

The forces established a military checkpoint inside al-Aridah village and distributed leaflets warning residents against blocking roads or obstructing the movement of military vehicles. No clashes or arrests were reported.

Israel continues to violate the 1974 Disengagement Agreement through repeated incursions into southern Syria, as well as raids, arrests, land bulldozing and artillery shelling.

Syria has repeatedly called for the withdrawal of the Israeli occupation from its territory, stressing that all measures taken by the occupation authorities are null and void and have no legal effect under international law. Syria has also called on the international community to assume its responsibilities and compel Israel to fully withdraw from southern Syria.
