Damascus, July 20 (SANA) Five people were killed and 19 others injured in road accidents and fires across Syria over the past 24 hours, the Syrian Civil Defense said on Monday.
Emergency teams responded to 21 traffic accidents that killed five people and injured 18 others over the past 24 hours, according to the Civil Defense‘s daily report. Rescue crews provided first aid, transported the injured to hospitals and secured the accident sites.
Firefighters also tackled 153 fires, including one involving agricultural fields and crops. The remaining incidents occurred in homes, commercial premises, vegetation, trees, garbage and electrical infrastructure.
One person was treated for minor injuries at the scene of the fires, while damage was limited to property losses.
The latest figures follow 22 traffic accidents reported across Syria on Saturday, which left one person dead and 36 others injured.
