Doha, April 22 (SANA) President Ahmad al-Sharaa met in Doha on Wednesday with Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and the two sides discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations.

The meeting was attended by Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani and Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, along with several officials from both countries.

Discussions focused on enhancing cooperation across various sectors, particularly in economic and investment fields, as well as strengthening trade connectivity.

President al-Sharaa reaffirmed Syria’s solidarity with Qatar and Arab countries affected by Iranian aggressions.

The meeting also addressed recent regional and international developments and ways to coordinate efforts to preserve security and stability in the region.

Later, President al-Sharaa said that his meeting with Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani reflected the depth of understanding between Syria and Qatar and opened broader prospects for joint work in key sectors, particularly energy, investment and trade connectivity.

The president added that he reaffirmed Syria’s solidarity with the State of Qatar in the face of threats affecting its security and sovereignty.

The meeting follows recent high-level engagement between Syria and regional partners, including talks held Tuesday in Jeddah between President Ahmad al-Sharaa and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, where the two sides focused on strengthening bilateral relations, particularly in economic and investment sectors.
