Damascus, April 18 (SANA) Several areas across Syria have been affected by unstable weather conditions, with heavy rainfall and strong winds causing localized flooding, structural damage, and precautionary evacuations, Syria’s Civil Defense said on Saturday.

In a statement, the Civil Defense reported fallen trees, blocked drainage systems, and partial building collapses, including a landslide in the al-Siha area that led to flooding in residential zones and evacuations.

Emergency teams carried out more than 38 field responses, including rescue and evacuation operations, water drainage, debris removal, and reopening roads blocked by floods.

The Civil Defense said its teams remain on the ground working to reduce damage and protect civilians as the weather system continues.

Authorities warned that the unstable conditions, which began Friday and are expected to last until Monday, may peak on Sunday, bringing heavy rain, thunderstorms, and flash floods across much of the country.
