Cairo, April 6 (SANA) Fawaz al-Ahmad, head of Syria’s General Federation of Trade Unions, held a series of bilateral meetings with Arab officials on the sidelines of the 104th session of the Arab Labor Organization (ALO) Board of Directors in Cairo.
The meetings included several Arab officials, among them Egypt’s Minister of Labor Hassan Radad, Sudan’s Minister of Human Resources Mutasim Ahmed Saleh, Saudi Arabia’s Chairman of Labor Committees Nasser Al Jarid, and President of the General Federation of Sudanese Trade Unions Sir al-Khatim Al-Amin Abdel-Gadir.
Discussions focused on strengthening Arab cooperation, expanding joint action, promoting social dialogue, and enhancing coordination between Syria and other Arab countries on labor and employment issues, according to participants.
The session’s agenda also included a report on the conditions of Palestinian workers in the occupied territories, as well as discussions on the 2027–2028 plan and budget and the outcomes of legal expert committee work.
Syria is participating in the ALO Board meeting, which began Saturday in Cairo, with a delegation headed by al-Ahmad.
