Damascus, Feb. 28 (SANA) – Syria’s Minister of Emergency and Disaster Management, Raed al-Saleh, on Saturday urged citizens to avoid touching or approaching any suspicious objects or remnants of war following missile debris falling in southern Syrian territories during the Iranian-Israeli missile exchange.
In a post on the X platform, al-Saleh warned that unexploded ordnance or fallen objects pose serious risks, particularly to children and nearby residents, and could result in catastrophic consequences.
He called on the public to immediately notify specialized units from the Ministries of Defense and Emergency and Disaster Management if they encounter suspicious items, emphasizing that protecting civilian lives is a shared responsibility.
Earlier, the ministry advised citizens to exercise maximum caution and follow safety guidelines amid rapidly evolving regional military developments.
The Syrian Civil Defense issued safety instructions recommending that residents avoid debris, seek shelter indoors when explosions occur, stay away from windows and exposed rooftops, refrain from gathering near impact sites, and report fires or suspicious objects to authorities.
