Washington, March. 30 (SANA) President Donald Trump has signaled that he is considering tougher measures, including potential action targeting key oil export infrastructure and nuclear-related assets, should diplomacy fail while the US-Israeli conflict with Iran is now in its second month. Meanwhile, Pakistan is stepping up efforts to broker indirect talks between Washington and Tehran, hosting a regional meeting aimed at de-escalation amid growing fears of a wider conflict.

Meanwhile, US and Israeli strikes have hit Iranian energy facilities and economic infrastructure, causing casualties and significant damage. Israel has reported intercepting Iranian missiles and drones, including those launched from Yemen.

Tensions have also spilt over into neighboring countries, with exchanges reported along the Lebanese border and incidents targeting facilities in Gulf states. There have also been multiple drone interceptions in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

Iran’s economy is under mounting strain due to rising inflation and declining oil exports, while global energy markets have surged. Brent crude has climbed above $115 per barrel, driven by concerns over supply disruptions through the Strait of Hormuz — a critical route for around one-fifth of the world’s oil trade.

As the conflict escalates, diplomatic efforts are intensifying to contain the crisis amid warnings of broader risks to regional stability and global energy security.
