During the visit, Minister Badr met with Daraa Governor Anwar Taha al-Zoubi, with talks focusing on challenges facing the sector, including issues related to temporary visas for truck drivers traveling to Gulf countries.

Badr also toured the historic Hijaz railway station and reviewed potential investment projects in coordination with the General Organization of Hijaz Railway.

He announced emergency maintenance plans for the Damascus–Daraa highway, a key route linking Syria with neighboring countries, and outlined long-term plans to construct a new road east of the existing highway.

The tour comes as part of the ministry’s broader efforts to modernize infrastructure, support investment projects and enhance transport services across Syrian provinces.
