Damascus, March 15 (SANA) Syria will take part in the 2026 Global Anti-Fraud Summit in Vienna, bringing together financial experts to discuss efforts to combat financial crime and strengthen regulatory frameworks, the governor of the Central Bank of Syria said Sunday.
Central Bank Governor Abdelkader Husrieh said Syria’s participation in the summit would support cooperation in tackling fraud and promoting the integrity of the global financial system.
In a post on the social media platform X, Husrieh said Syria’s participation is particularly important for the country’s Anti-Money Laundering Authority, providing an opportunity to exchange expertise and learn about international best practices in combating fraud and financial crimes.
The Global Anti-Fraud Summit 2026 is scheduled to take place in Vienna on March 16 and 17.
Organized by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and INTERPOL, the summit brings together governments, law enforcement agencies, the private sector and civil society to strengthen cooperation and turn commitments into concrete action.
