Al-Azhar strongly condemns Israel’s terrorist aggression against Syria

Cairo, SANA- Al-Azhar Al-Sharif condemned in the strongest terms the Israeli attacks on Syria, affirming that they reflect Israel’s agenda of spreading chaos and instability, as well as its repeated violations against the countries and peoples of the region.

“The Israeli attacks on Syria aim to drag the entire region to the brink of explosion, in a way that achieves Israel’s goals of expansion, seizing territory, and occupying larger areas, amid the usual international silence and a flagrant violation of international and humanitarian law,” Al-Azhar Al-Sharif said in a statement on Thursday.

The statement added that Al-Azhar emphasized that the strength of Syrians lies in their unity despite their diversity and their ability to coexist positively with their diverse religious and sectarian backgrounds. It called on everyone to be vigilant against attempts to create division and sectarian conflict, which serve Zionist agendas to divide Syria, as part of a broader strategy to transform the entire region into an arena for wars and a sustainable hotbed of conflicts.

Al-Azhar Al-Sharif called on Syrians to uphold the stability of Syria and preserve the unity of its territory.
