$7 billion energy deal is just the beginning in Syria, Barrack says

Ankara, SANA-Thomas Barrack, the US Special Envoy to Syria, has announced that a $7 billion investment in Syria through a consortium of leading international energy companies is just the beginning.

“I met Dr. Mohammed al-Khulaifi, Minister of State at the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in Istanbul, to discuss US President Donald Trump’s vision for a prosperous Syria that determines its own future.” Barrack posted on the X platform.

Barrack added: “The $7 billion energy deal is just the beginning, and Qatar plans to invest in Syria, which is now open for business thanks to the decisive lifting of sanctions by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.”
