Damascus, Jan. 9 (SANA) President Ahmad al-Sharaa spoke by phone with Masoud Barzani, leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, to discuss recent developments in Syria and the region. During the conversation, they highlighted the importance of strengthening stability and fostering joint cooperation.
President al-Sharaa emphasized that the’’ Kurds are an integral part of the Syrian people. He reaffirmed the government’s full commitment to guaranteeing their national, political, and civil rights on an equal basis with all other components of Syrian People, without discrimination.’’
Barzani welcomed this position and expressed support for Syrians’ efforts to build an inclusive state for all its citizens. The two leaders also agreed on the need for continued coordination and consultation to advance shared interests and promote civil peace.
