Damascus, Jan. 9 (SANA) Syrian Interior Minister Anas Khattab announced Friday that Interior Ministry forces, in coordination with the General Intelligence Directorate, have arrested the military leader of ISIS’s “Wilayat al-Sham” in a joint security operation.
Khattab said in a post on the social media platform X that the operation demonstrates Syria’s determination to combat terrorism and underscores ongoing efforts to strengthen security and stability nationwide.
In previous joint operations, Interior Ministry forces arrested two ISIS provincial leaders and neutralized another in recent months.
