Syria is taking part in the seventh meeting of the Arab Coordination Mechanism for Disaster Risk Reduction, held in Manama and organized by the General Secretariat of the Arab League.
Ahmed Qazziz, Deputy Minister of Emergency and Disaster Management, head of the Syrian delegation, delivered a speech reviewing the current disaster situation in Syria. He outlined key challenges and ongoing efforts to develop a national disaster management plan with a focus on local preparedness and community resilience.
Qazziz emphasized the importance of strengthening national risk reduction policies, strategic planning, and exploring innovative financing mechanisms to support local communities.
The meeting, which began on Wednesday, brings together Arab, regional, and international organizations. It is scheduled to conclude on Thursday.
