Cairo, Sept. 06 (SANA) Syrian national team sprinter Hadi Abbas qualified for the men’s 100-meter final at the Arab U18 Championships in Cairo on Saturday after clocking 10.78 seconds to win his heat.
Abbas secured his place in Sunday’s final by finishing first in his qualifying heat. The final is scheduled for 7:55 p.m. Damascus time.
Syria is competing in the championships, which run through Sept. 09, with four athletes.
Abbas is entered in the 100 and 200 meters, while Hussam Bayai is competing in the high jump, Dina Shisha in the hammer throw and Malak Masoud in the javelin throw.
