Damascus, October 3 (SANA) Thirteen people were injured in road accidents and fires reported in several parts of Syria over the past 24 hours, with Civil Defense teams of the Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management responding to the incidents.
According to a statement posted by the Civil Defense on Telegram on Saturday, its teams responded to 12 road accidents, which left 12 people injured. The injured received first aid before being taken to hospitals for further treatment, while teams also cleared debris and secured the accident sites.
The Civil Defense urged drivers to reduce speed, check the technical condition of their vehicles, including brakes and windshield wipers, and avoid distractions such as using mobile phones while driving.
30 fires reported across several areas
Civil Defense teams also responded to 30 fires involving homes, commercial establishments, grass, trees, garbage and electrical wires. The fires were extinguished and the affected sites cooled and secured.
The fires left one person injured, who received first aid, and caused property damage.
Two people were killed and 30 others injured two days earlier in road accidents and fires across Syria that prompted responses from Civil Defense teams of the Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management.
