Damascus, May 16 (SANA) The Syrian national physics team has wrapped up its participation in the KAI International Physics Olympiad (KAIPhO), a two-day remote competition organized by Kazan National Research Technical University (KNRTU-KAI) in Russia.
In a statement posted on Facebook Friday, Syria‘s Distinction and Creativity Agency said 16 students from the national team took part in the competition from provincial centers across the country.
Participants sat for scientific examinations under direct electronic supervision, in line with internationally recognized standards.
The agency noted that KAIPhO is among the most advanced international competitions in physics, featuring in-depth theoretical problems that demand high-level analytical thinking and mathematical proficiency, closely mirroring the format of specialized global physics Olympiads.
The participation reflects ongoing efforts by the Agency to bolster Syrian students’ presence in international scientific competitions, enhance their research and academic capabilities, and prepare a new generation of young talents capable of representing Syria on global scientific platforms.
Kazan National Research Technical University, founded in 1932, is one of Russia’s leading technical institutions. Located in Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, the university is a prominent hub for engineering and technology education, with particular focus on aviation and aerospace fields.
