Aleppo, April 3 (SANA) Ahli Aleppo held off a late rally to defeat al-Shabiba 74–72 on Thursday at al-Shabiba Hall in the second leg of Syria’s Men’s Basketball League.
Ahli made a strong start under new coach Jad al-Haj, racing to a 32–15 lead at the end of the first quarter. Al-Shabiba responded in the second, narrowing the gap as Ahli led 45–35 at halftime.
Al-Shabiba continued to close in during the third quarter, but Ahli maintained their advantage and ultimately secured a narrow two-point victory despite late pressure.
In another fixture, al-Wahda will face al-Karama on Friday in the same competition.
