Damascus, May 1 (SANA) Director of the Middle East and North Africa Department at the German Foreign Ministry Clemens Hach said on Thursday that the Syrian-German Economic Cooperation Forum was very successful as a follow-up to President Ahmad al-Sharaa’s visit to Berlin.
“Economy Minister Nidal al-Shaar and Central Bank Governor Abdulkader Husrieh presented Syria’s economic development prospects convincingly, highlighting its role as a bridge between the Arab world and Europe. They also briefed German companies on the Syrian government’s efforts to facilitate investment and trade,” Hach told SANA.
He added that problems persist, particularly in the financial sector. Therefore, Central Bank Governor Husrieh visit to the German Federal Bank in Frankfurt was of great importance.
“German-Syrian trade relations possess significant potential, and the conference demonstrated the German economy’s growing openness to Syria,” Hach added.
