Aoun: Syrian-Lebanese judicial agreement boosts bilateral relations

Beirut ,Feb. 6 (SANA)Lebanese President Joseph Aoun affirmed that the judicial agreement with Syria strengthens relations between the two countries, stressing that Syria’s stability positively reflects on Lebanon, and vice versa.

According to the Lebanese News Agency, Aoun stated during his meeting in Beirut on Friday with French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot: “Relations between Lebanon and Syria are steadily developing, and today an agreement was signed to address the issue of Syrian detainees in Lebanon.”

He added that efforts are underway to “facilitate the return of Syrian refugees to their homeland once the reasons for their stay have ceased.”

Earlier on Friday, Syria and Lebanon signed an agreement in Beirut to transfer convicted Syrian prisoners from Lebanon to their home country, Syria.
