Moscow, March 10 (SANA) Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump discussed international developments and several strategic issues during a phone call on Monday, a Kremlin official said.
Yuri Ushakov, an aide to Putin, said the hour-long conversation focused on rising tensions surrounding Iran and negotiations related to the war in Ukraine, according to Russia’s Sputnik news agency.
Ushakov described the conversation as “pragmatic, candid and constructive,” adding that Trump stressed the importance of maintaining regular communication between the two sides, a position Putin welcomed.
The two leaders also discussed developments related to U.S. and Israeli military operations and exchanged views on the situation in Iran. They also addressed the situation in Venezuela, particularly issues related to global oil market stability.
The call came in the wake of the U.S.-Israeli military strike on Iran and the rapid escalation that followed, developments that have cast a shadow over global security and stability.
