Brussels, Dec. 1 (SANA) Belgium on Monday voiced deep concern over recurrent Israeli strikes on Syria and incursions into its territory, saying the actions heighten tensions and undermine regional security and stability.
In a post on X, the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said: “Belgium is deeply concerned by recurrent Israeli strikes and incursions into Syria, including reports of civilian casualties in Beit Jinn. These actions heighten tensions and undermine regional security and stability.” It added: “Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity must be respected.”
Last Friday, 13 civilians were martyred and others injured in an Israeli attack on the town of Beit Jinn in the Damascus countryside.
The Syrian government condemned the attack as a “war crime” and reiterated its call on the UN Security Council, the United Nations, and the Arab League to take urgent action to halt Israeli violations.
