Kuwait City/Manama, Sept. 9 (SANA) Kuwait and Bahrain condemned Iranian missile attacks on Jordan on Wednesday after the Jordanian military said its air defenses intercepted and destroyed 18 of 20 ballistic missiles fired at the country.
The Jordanian Armed Forces said the remaining two missiles fell in remote areas away from population centers.
Kuwait’s Foreign Ministry said on X that the attacks violated Jordan’s sovereignty, international law, the UN Charter and UN Security Council Resolution 2817, and called for an immediate halt to the attacks.
The ministry urged de-escalation and dialogue to prevent further tensions and safeguard regional security and stability.
Bahrain’s Foreign Ministry also condemned the attacks, describing them as a flagrant violation of international law and a serious threat to regional security and stability.
It called on the UN Security Council to take firm measures to compel Iran to halt what it described as aggressive actions against countries in the region.
