Beirut, July 20 (SANA) Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman reaffirmed the Kingdom’s support for Lebanon during a phone call with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun on Monday, as the two leaders discussed regional developments and efforts to bolster security and stability.
According to a statement from the Lebanese presidency, the Saudi crown prince expressed support for the policies pursued by Aoun to preserve Lebanon’s sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity.
Mohammed bin Salman also reiterated Saudi Arabia’s readiness to assist Lebanon in areas identified as priorities by the Lebanese government.
Aoun thanked Saudi Arabia for its continued backing of Lebanon and its efforts to promote peace and stability across the region, the statement said.
The call came during Aoun’s visit to Washington, where he met U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Sunday before talks with U.S. President Donald Trump scheduled for Tuesday.
