Aden, Sept. 4 (SANA) Nearly 50 Houthi militia members were killed or wounded and several others captured in clashes with the Yemeni Armed Forces west of Taiz, Yemen’s Saba news agency reported Friday.
The fighting erupted after the Houthi militia launched an early-morning attack on the Maqbanah and al-Kadhah fronts in an attempt to seize the road linking Taiz and Mocha, according to Saba.
Yemeni forces repelled the attack and launched a counteroffensive against Houthi positions on both fronts. They also thwarted an attempted infiltration by Houthi fighters on the al-Ahtoub front in Jabal Habashi district.
The Yemeni Armed Forces also shot down three Houthi explosive-laden drones in Jabal Habashi and struck two militia military vehicles on the al-Kadhah front, killing or wounding several people aboard them, Saba reported.
