Damascus, July 22 (SANA) The Syrian Arab Republic strongly condemned on Wednesday the statements issued by military spokesman of Houthi militia, which included false allegations and accusations against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia which attempt to distort its regional role and undermine efforts aimed at enhancing security and stability in the region.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ministry stressed Syria’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia in facing these allegations.

The ministry praised the positive and pivotal role played by the Kingdom in consolidating regional security and peace, supporting political solutions to conflicts, and promoting dialogue and cooperation among the countries of the region in a way that serves the interests of their peoples and preserves their stability, according to the statement.

On Monday, Houthi militia in Yemen had escalated its threats to maritime navigation in the region, announcing what it called a ban on maritime navigation to and from Saudi Arabia.
