Amman, Aug. 18 (SANA) Jordan condemned Israeli airstrikes on Abu al-Duhur Military Airbase in Idlib and urged the international community to compel Israel to halt its attacks on Syria.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ambassador Fouad al-Majali said Tuesday the attack was unjustified and violated Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, international law and the UN Charter.
Al-Majali called for an end to repeated Israeli attacks targeting Syria’s security and stability, warning they would fuel further regional conflict and tension.
He urged the international community to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities, compel Israel to halt its attacks and end its occupation of part of Syrian territory, while respecting international law and state sovereignty.
Al-Majali reaffirmed Jordan’s support for Syria’s reconstruction efforts in a way that safeguards its unity, sovereignty, security and territorial integrity and preserves the rights of all Syrians.
Earlier Tuesday, Syria condemned the Israeli strikes as an unjustified act of aggression, a violation of its sovereignty and a dangerous regional escalation.
