Syrian, Jordanian officials review joint disaster preparedness mechanisms

Damascus, Feb. 2 (SANA) — Minister of Emergency and Disaster Management Raed al-Saleh discussed Monday with Jordan’s Ambassador to Damascus, Sufyan al-Qudah, ways to enhance cooperation and joint coordination between the two countries in emergency response and disaster management.

During the meeting held at the ministry’s headquarters in Damascus, the two sides stressed the importance of exchanging technical expertise to protect civilians, strengthen preparedness, and improve the speed and effectiveness of response mechanisms, reflecting the deep-rooted and fraternal relations between Syria and Jordan.

The talks underscored both countries’ keenness to develop working frameworks between relevant institutions and expand professional cooperation in order to raise readiness levels and ensure a swift response to emergencies and natural disasters.
