Arab companies showcase investments, expand presence at Damascus trade fairs

Damascus, July 2 (SANA) Arab companies are expanding their presence in Syria and exploring new investment opportunities at a series of specialized trade fairs in Damascus, reflecting growing regional interest in the country’s industrial and commercial sectors.

The exhibitions have brought together companies from across the Arab region to showcase products and technologies while holding talks with Syrian partners on potential investments and business cooperation.

Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh Cables Group said it has already begun operations in Syria after signing a 20-year agreement with the Syrian Sovereign Fund to manage and operate the Syrian Cables Company.

Maher Abdulwahid, the group’s deputy sales president, said production is underway using Syrian workers and expertise, with products being supplied to the domestic market in line with international standards.

He described the project as the first industrial investment by a Saudi manufacturer in Syria, saying the company aims to support the country’s manufacturing sector while applying international quality and safety standards.

UAE-based Al bait al Sareea Construction Company is participating in the exhibitions for the first time, presenting its cold-formed steel construction technology as it seeks to expand into the Syrian market.

The company’s representative, Ghiyath Safia, said the firm has completed more than 200 projects in the United Arab Emirates and sees opportunities for growth in Syria.

Jordan’s Limar Company said it has strengthened its presence in Syria by opening a wholesale distribution center in Damascus three months ago in response to growing demand for lighting products and electrical equipment.

Sales Manager Ali Al Attari said the company is displaying indoor and outdoor lighting systems, street lighting solutions and electrical equipment for residential and public-sector projects.

The Syria Specialized Exhibitions 2026 continue through July 3 at the Damascus Fairgrounds, bringing together the TechnoBuild construction exhibition, Syria Energy and the SINEX industrial exhibition. Organizers say the events aim to encourage investment partnerships and strengthen regional economic cooperation with Syria.
