Baghdad, Aug. 17 (SANA) Two drones launched from the direction of Iran targeted the private office of the prime minister of Iraq’s Kurdistan Region and the residence of a senior security official on Monday, Kurdish authorities said, adding that no casualties were reported.

The Kurdistan Counter-Terrorism Service said the two Hadid-110 drones struck the prime minister’s private office and the residence of the security service director, about 30 km north of Erbil, according to a statement carried by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

The service condemned the attacks as “unacceptable” and said those responsible would bear full responsibility for their consequences.

The incident comes days after Iraqi government spokesperson Haider al-Aboudi said the country’s Counter-Terrorism Service and National Intelligence Service had dismantled a network that possessed drones and was planning operations against specific targets.

Al-Aboudi said on Aug. 9 that members of the network had been arrested following an intelligence operation.
