Tehran, March 20 (SANA) Iran said on Friday that the spokesperson for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Ali Mohammad Naeini, was killed in a U.S.-Israeli strike earlier in the day.
Iranian state television, cited by Reuters, confirmed Naeini’s death in the attack.
The strike comes amid an ongoing U.S.-Israeli military campaign against Iran that began on Feb. 28 and has killed more than 1,000 people, including senior leaders and officials, according to Iranian authorities.
Earlier this week, Iran’s Supreme National Security Council said its head, Ali Larijani, was killed in an Israeli strike that also killed Basij commander Gholamreza Soleimani.
Iran has responded to the attacks by targeting sites in Israel and launching missile and drone strikes on several countries in the region, resulting in casualties and damage to key infrastructure.
