Interior Ministry Dismantles Captagon Trafficking Network in Daraa and Aleppo

Deraa-Aleppo, SANA- The Syrian Ministry of the Interior has foiled an attempt to smuggle a large shipment of Captagon in Daraa and dismantled a drug trafficking network in Aleppo, as part of two specialized operations that resulted in the seizure of hundreds of thousands of narcotic pills.

Director of the Anti-Narcotics Department, Brigadier General Khaled Eid, reported that, as part of ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking, the Daraa Anti-Narcotics Division carried out a well-planned ambush. This operation led to the interception of a shipment of Captagon pills hidden in food jars, specifically tomato paste, in an attempt to smuggle them out of the country.

Eid affirmed that the shipment was confiscated and destroyed in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

In addition, in a parallel operation in Aleppo province, the same division dismantled a drug trafficking network, seizing approximately 200,000 Captagon pills. Those implicated in this crime have been arrested and handed over to the relevant authorities for legal action.

Both operations are part of the government’s efforts to combat drug trafficking in the country and ensure public safety.
