Moscow, Sep. 18 (SANA) Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko said Friday that Moscow maintains continuous contacts with Ankara on security issues in the Black Sea.
“We are engaged in systematic and ongoing dialogue with the Turkish side on maritime security in its broadest sense,” Russia’s Sputnik news agency quoted Grushko as telling reporters.
Asked about reports that Türkiye had sent Russia a draft memorandum on halting attacks in the Black Sea, Grushko said Moscow does not comment on the reports.
Türkiye has called on Ukraine and Russia to establish a mechanism for declaring a mutual halt to attacks on vessels in the Black Sea, warning that the conflict could expand to affect commercial shipping.
