Idlib, Sept. 20 (SANA)  The second edition of the Idlib Markets Festival 2026 since liberation opened Saturday evening at al-Tahrir Park in Idlib city, northwest Syria, with the participation of 96 companies across 160 exhibition booths.

Festival director Hamdo Harmoush told SANA that the event provides a space for companies to display their products and introduce their brands to consumers. He said the current edition features diverse participation from food, clothing and chemical sectors, in addition to electrical industries and detergents.

Harmoush added that the 10-day festival includes daily entertainment programs on the main stage and aims to support commercial activity through direct interaction between companies and consumers. Participating companies are offering discounts, promotional deals and gifts during the event.

Maabad al-Khaled, sales manager at one of the participating companies, said his company returned to participate in Idlib after a 15-year absence. He said the company specializes in food products, dates and biscuits.

Visitors Suad Shaar and Afaf Shaar said the festival atmosphere was positive and that prices were lower than those in local markets. They noted the large turnout and the presence of families and children.

Junaid al-Ahmad, a visitor from Deir Gharbi in the Maaret al-Numan area, said prices at the festival were reasonable and described the event as a recreational space and shopping opportunity for families.

The Idlib Markets Festival 2026 is part of a plan by the Ministry of Economy and Industry and the Syrian General Establishment for Exhibitions to organize open markets across Syrian provinces, support local products and stimulate markets.
