Japan urges continued international support for Palestine, development efforts
Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi speaks at a CEAPAD ministerial meeting in Manila.

Manila, July 23 (SANA) Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi on Wednesday called for continued international support for Palestine, saying such efforts are essential to advancing development and supporting a two-state solution.

Speaking at a ministerial meeting of the Conference on Cooperation among East Asian Countries for Palestinian Development (CEAPAD) in Manila, Motegi said “the continued existence of Palestine is essential to achieving a two-state solution,” Japan’s public broadcaster reported.

Motegi highlighted the role of the CEAPAD framework in supporting Palestine, saying it could contribute to state-building efforts through long-term human resource development, particularly in healthcare, education, agriculture and tourism.

Japan launched the CEAPAD initiative in 2013 to coordinate regional efforts aimed at supporting Palestinian development and strengthening cooperation among East Asian countries.
